As of the 2008 racing season an exiting new race serie will kick off in the Netherlands:
The MaX5 Racing Championship, based on the Mazda MX5 1.6 NA.

The MX5; besides being a fun to drive roadster on the streets,
this Mazda is a very capable racer once it hits the track.
Countries such as Japan, the USA and Great Britain have been the host of many
MX5 races and championships. Close competition, great reliability and lots of fun
with fellow racecardrivers is what makes this formula such a success.

Founded as an entry level championship in motorsport, racing with the MaX5 is very affordable.
The cars are easy to obtain, not expensive and there are plenty of original spare parts on sale to maintain it.
Furthermore the technical rules of the serie will not allow too many modifications
to the cars and a few serie specific parts like dampers en tires, to keep competition close
The championship is based on the English MaX5 series, so drivers from both Europe and England
can compete in either one of the two series.
Our regulations are almost simular to the uk: so check www.Ma5daracing.com for english regulations.
The Dutch MaX5 Championship will be run mainly as a semi endurance format but with a few sprint races too.
This type of racing will let the drivers see plenty of tracktime and it will give the teams
the option to participate with a second driver, keeping the running costs low.
MaX5 races will be held during events of the Dutch National Racing Team (D.N.R.T.)
Through out the season there will be about seven events on several tracks like Zandvoort, Zolder and Oschersleben. Once a year the D.N.R.T. will also organise an open pitlane day at the beautiful Belgium
racetrack of Spa Franchorchamps.
